Carmel Cafe

Focused on his work, senior Clay Stirsman is studying in Carmel Cafe. Stirsman claimed he enjoyed going to the cafe to destress and focus on his work. “It's a great place to relax and catch up on all my homework while still socializing with my friends,” Stirsman said. A. Ortiz photo

Staying Focused

Working at his desk, junior Clark Stanton completes his work in English 11 / U.S. history block. Stanton said he learned a lot in the class. “I’ve felt like it prepares me pretty well because Mr. Dillon is pretty fun and I’m learning a lot in there,” Stanton said. A. Ortiz photo

Historic Value

At her desk, junior Savannah Murdza works in her English 11 / U.S. history block class. Murdza has liked this class because it helped her understand what has happened in worldly events. “By having a better understanding of what happened in the past, I am more aware and educated for the future,” Murdza said. Legacy Advantage

Signing the word demon, junior Matthew Beavan follows his brother’s footsteps taking ASL. Beaven has had past experience with ASL, and was familiar with the language before taking the class. “I just thought it was a cool class to take because I’ve never really heard of any other school offering it,” Beaven said. Spooky Spider

Signing the word spider to her partner in American Sign Language class, junior Blair Wayman is taking part in her classes’ skit after learning new material. Wayman enjoyed seeing herself and her classmates apply their new knowledge to partner discussions. “Sign language opens your eyes on a whole other way to communicate with people,” Wayman said. A.
